Industrial Turnaround Contractor Program

Quick Links

SPG Energy’s Industrial Turnaround Contractor Program is a casualty-led E&S insurance solution for contractors performing planned shutdowns, maintenance, repairs and upgrades at high-hazard industrial facilities, including refineries, chemical plants and processing operations.

Designed for turnaround contractors (not general construction) the program helps retail brokers access specialized underwriting for contract-driven industrial work where safety controls, project oversight and loss performance are critical.

Industrial shutdown and turnaround contractor insurance is designed for contractors performing planned maintenance, repairs and upgrades during temporary shutdowns at high-hazard facilities. SPG Energy’s program provides a casualty-led E&S solution for eligible contractors working at refineries, chemical plants and processing operations.

The program is intended for experienced, pre-qualified contractors whose primary work includes planned industrial shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance, repairs or upgrades. General construction risks are not the program’s target. Eligibility depends on the contractor’s operations, safety controls, loss history, contracts and project details

Eligible accounts may access General Liability, Contractors Pollution Liability, Professional Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers’ Compensation and supported follow-form Excess Liability. Coverage availability and terms depend on underwriting review and current market appetite.

The program may offer up to $1 million per occurrence for eligible General Liability, Contractors Pollution Liability and Professional Liability coverages; up to a $2 million shared aggregate; and up to $10 million in supported follow-form excess limits. Final limits are subject to underwriting and program terms.

The program has geographic appetite across all 50 states. Availability remains subject to account eligibility, applicable licensing requirements, carrier availability and underwriting approval.

A strong submission should include a detailed description of operations, project and facility types, safety programs, loss history, payroll and revenue, vehicle information, contracts or master service agreements, requested coverages and limits, and any applicable pollution or professional exposures.

Retail brokers can use the embedded contact form to share account details with SPG Energy. The team can then discuss program eligibility, coverage needs, submission requirements and available placement options.
